So, unfortunately (for the first time in a great while, if you think about it) I will not be able to make it to Dayton for Christmas. I'm really, really sad - I absolutely love our Christmases. It's always like having a second family Christmas to me (especially now with Colin there, too).

However, I still intend to have a presence there, so I came up with an idea.

Once we get it figured out when the Christmas occasion will be, I say we do some sort of webcam Christmas. If it works for monopoly, it should work for Christmas too, right?

So on that note, here is my approximate Christmas schedule.

December 19-23 Home with my family and Colin for my fam's Christmas.
December 24-30 Home in NY alone (Colin will be in MN).
December 31-? Home in MD for New Years.

Also, if you guys would let me know when your amazon lists are up and ready to go - I need to get an early start (at least with planning) so I can budget stuff. Christmas is gonna be tight this year.

Yours Truly,

Elizabeth T Green

Just wanted to let you all know, Chris and I have netflix now (finally). I have no idea how to see what is on other people's lists, but I assume one (or more) of you guys do. Help me, please. You all stay on top of good movies way better than I do.

I'm off to celebrate but I wanted to tell you and thank you for writing me what was obviously an amazing letter of recomendation.
Colin

mmm, yes. [Feb. 25th, 2008|02:55 am]
You know what is really sad? When the highlight of my entire academic year so far is the unparalleled sense of joy and wonderfulness I got from reading "Plant Domestication and the Shift to Agriculture in the Andes." Seriously, it was the most amazing thing I've read in grad school so far. I saved it to be the very last think I read tonight, and it felt SOOOOOO good to read something I'm actually interested in. Oh my god, so fucking good. I want to rub the paper all over my face and just luxuriate in its interestingness (at least to me). I could feel it soothing my broken soul/mind, that's how good it felt. I feel like I'm going to be rereading it throughout the rest of the semester to remind myself that there is something I still like about it all.

I am now the owner of a four-month-old little calico/weird colored cat. Still deciding on names. Will post some pictures when I get back home and have access to my camera.

Colin and I (baring anything horrible) will be in OH on Friday, December 28th. Should anything change, you will of course be informed immediately.

Now I have to go write 13 pages in 5.5 hours. [sigh]

Which sci-fi crew would you best fit in with? (pics)
created with QuizFarm.com
You scored as SG-1 (Stargate)

You are versatile and diverse in your thinking. You have an open mind to that which seems highly unlikely and accept it with a bit of humor. Now if only aliens would stop trying to take over your body.

I know its kind of late in the day, but I'm going to blame it on my sickness (and fucking three and a half hours at the doctors office during TWO trips).

Happy 5th of November, everyone. Remember, remember.

A find it funny that "A Clockwork Orange" and "Singing in the Rain" are next to each other on Barnes and Noble.com, and under classic comedies, as well. I don't know that I'd call clockwork a comedy. But who knows.

Seriously though - next to "Singing in the Rain?" Amazing.

According to Dr. Tim McAndrews (my Bolivia professor) I am "now offically, a professional Andean archaeologist!" My presentation at the conference went very well on Saturday, and even though some of the questions I got threw me, I think I did a fair enough job. I've introduced myself to a bunch of prominant Andeanists, and gotten information on Pirque Alto out there. I have a geologist, a Formative period woman, and a metals guy very interested in the site. It's pretty sweet.

Now I just have to get through the following week, which equals two mid-terms, grading papers, grading an exam, regular class reading, and argument mapping. 11 days till I see Colin!
